Transcripts must be sent prior to the application deadline to ensure timely evaluation. For fall admission, all general education courses must be completed by the end of the summer term. At this time, Joint Program students are only admitted on the Jefferson Campus for fall and spring. Is the UAB/JSCC Joint Enrollment option available on all campuses every semester? Attending an AUR session will provide you with one ranking point for admission. When are the “Are You Ready for Nursing” (AUR) sessions scheduled?Īpproximately 4-6 AUR sessions are scheduled each term. Students can only receive either 2 points for a JSCC certificate OR higher degree – not both. Students who have received a prior bachelors or higher degree can receive 2 ranking points. Do I receive any credit for having achieved a bachelors or higher degree? Only certificates obtained through JSCC can be used for ranking. Can certifications from other colleges/universities be used for ranking points?

You only compete with students applying for the same admission time. Admission is based on the pool of applicants each admission term therefore, some semesters are more competitive than others. How many points do I need to get into the program?Ī total of 58 ranking points is possible. No other tests will be utilized for admission ranking including TEAS, GRE, MAT, etc. The ACT represents a large portion of admission ranking. I already have a degree already – do I have to take the ACT?Īll Joint Program applicants MUST take the ACT. You can make an appointment to take the ACT Residual through the following Testing Office link: or via phone on Jefferson Campus at The ACT (national or residual) test can be taken every 60 days. JSCC does not currently evaluate ACT Superscores. We accept ACT residual results from all Alabama community colleges. The results are expedited to meet admission deadlines. The ACT residual is the same test as the national ACT. Joint Enrollment Application FAQs What is the ACT residual? For example, if applying for fall admission, transcript should be sent by May 12 (end of spring) and an updated transcript sent at the end of summer semester. If taking courses elsewhere the semester before potential admission, students must send an updated transcript prior to the day before they would begin nursing courses. Official transcripts should initially be sent upon application to JSCC. Students applying to the Joint Program option may continue to take courses at another institution until the actual start of NUR 112. Can a student apply to JSCC while attending another college? Admission status will be updated each semester based upon completion of program requirements.
